about

Sayyed Bandar returns with his fourth release "Memory Hole EP" on his newly registered label - Kidanama Records, a label related to Kamidana Records where he previously released 3 albums based on home/studio jams sessions. Kidanama Records was founded to complement its sister label with releases which don't necessarily fall into jam session structures. Thus, Memory Hole EP is a result of eclectic production style with a mixture of analog and digital world with lots of sound carving effort put into building complex soundscapes and textures to describe an exciting story.

The Russian movie "Stalker" as well as its original art form the book "Roadside Picnic" were huge inspiration for this EP.
It's a fictional story of aliens visiting earth that took place several decades ago which was shown in a very obscure and abstract way to the level that humans still can't figure out what happened, nor understand the (side) effects.

The idea that life can be distributed throughout the universe, from planet to planet, is called panspermia. The same idea is incorporated in the first and the last track as to represent the first visit on Earth, as well as a beginning of new life forms outside of the Earth represented in the last track of EP where the story of Earth is finished with a possibility of all information and experience loss.

Dark and fierce, Memory Hole represents a mechanism for the deliberate alteration or disappearance of documents, photographs, transcripts or other data records. It's one of the visitor's side effects that was introduced by Bandar which didn't originally exist in the movie nor the book. This concept was inspired by George Orwell's Memory Hole in "1984".

The female voice in "Volatile Mankind" brings dark and piercing-through speech about the collapse of mankind and its weakness and helplessness once faced with the foreign force which is both powerful and subtle at the same time.

Perturbation, in astronomy, means deviation in the motion of a celestial object caused either by the gravitational force of a passing object or by a collision with it.
In the context of this EP, Perturbation was meant to bring hope as the destruction of planet Earth may create new opportunities and plausible environments for life to happen nearby in the universe, perhaps in a different form than the one it's formed on Earth. Essentially, the panspermia evolved in a sense that it's not only an idea anymore, but it became a common and cascading effect. This track was written with an emotional drive from the beginning with the ultimate goal to build a theme focused on hope for the future even though it means all the knowledge and spirit we made is probably going to be fed into a virtual memory hole - the void, or filtered and recycled in a prosperous way.
